Tencent has attempted to launch WeChat outside of China, but most of these attempts have failed. WeChat Pay, which was built using the framework of Tenpay, has over 900 million users and has supplanted AliPay as the most popular payment service in the country. WeChat is the only app in China to have over one billion active users and is one of only five apps in the world which have surpassed that milestone. However, given that WeChat is only around 60 million monthly active users short of Facebook Messenger, there’s a chance it may surpass in the next few years, especially if it continues to. It has become one of the largest investors in China, second only to Sequoia China, and alongside hundreds of stakes in Chinese startups it also has shares in Snapchat, Fortnite and Tesla Motors. In another study, researchers found that people who got regular vigorous exercise were 25 percent less likely to develop an anxiety disorder over the next five years. In a study of college students, those who were physically active reported higher levels of excitement and enthusiasm as compared to those who were less active. In addition to protecting teens from depression, physical exercise such as team sports has been shown to decrease symptoms of anxiety. However, a follow-up study, done six months later, found that the effects of exercise actually lasted longer than those of antidepressants. After 16 weeks, depression had eased in all three groups. One group took part in an exercise program, one group took an antidepressant, and third group exercised and also took medication. Researchers divided participants with depression into three groups. 7 percent).Īnother study showed that physical activity can be as effective as antidepressants. Moreover, research shows that team sports may be more supportive for athletes’ mental health than individual sports: One study found that young athletes in individual sports were almost twice as likely to report symptoms of depression (13 percent vs. ![]() Most recently, a 2021 study involving data from 70,000 high school students found a direct link between sport and mental health. Let’s take a closer look at the research on teen sports and mental health in the area of teen depression. In fact, research shows that sports and other types of physical activity can be equally as effective as medication in improving teen mental health and happiness levels-while boosting physical health. Sleep improves when teens are physically active-which is important because sleep is essential for maintaining mental health.Teen sports, as well as other outdoor activities, get teens outside so they can experience the benefits of time in nature. The more time spent being physically active, the less time a teen spends on social media, which is proven to lower adolescent well-being.Improved teamwork and social responsibility are additional benefits of team sports for mental health. They have also been shown to increase executive functioning, creativity, cognitive development, and self-regulation.Team sports enhance resilience, empathy, confidence and empowerment.Participation in team sports reduces the risk of teen substance abuse and other reckless behaviors. ![]() Sports are associated with lower rates of stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal behavior.Physical activity releases endorphins, the body’s natural “happy chemicals,” and reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol.Exercise positively impacts levels of serotonin, a chemical that helps regulate mental health, and stimulates the neurotransmitter norepinephrine, which improves mood. Here are 10 mental benefits of sports validated by research: Both biological and psychological factors come into play. As a result, they have produced a large body of research on physical activity and mental health, including the link between sports and mental health. Scientists have been exploring the link between exercise and mood for more than 100 years. 10 Scientifically Validated Mental Benefits of Sports However, for high school student athletes and for college athletes, teen sports can boost self-esteem, build teamwork skills, and help teens and young adults build a close community of peers and supportive adults. Not only do sports reduce stress, they also give teens ways to bond and practice collaboration, while reaping the physical and mental health benefits of exercising.Įlite athletes often tell personal stories of how high-level competition led to eating disorders or other mental health conditions. Teen sports can have a significant positive impact on teen well-being. ![]() But is Pavetta’s child among those children?’ For if destiny isn’t a myth, I would have to choose the appropriate child among the ones you have shown me. ![]() You, after all, have carried out your side of the bargain. ‘If it backfires, it’ll backfire on me,’ he answered placidly. The color is given as a single value for single-band images, and a tuple for multi-band images (with one value for each band). Size is given as a (width, height)-tuple, in pixels. () method creates a new image with the given mode and size. Here, we will create Images with colors using Image.new() method. For example- #ffff00 represents yellow where hue is 0.63, saturation is 1.00, and also the lightness value is 0.50. Cylindrical: It is represented as HSL where H-hue, S-saturation, and L-lightness of color. For example- #ffff00 represents yellow where red is 255, green is 255 and blue is 0. Hexadecimal Color: It is represented as: #rgb or #rrggbb.String: Colors can also be represented as strings such as red, green, blue, and yellow.ImageColor module that contains various formats of representing colors. This module is used by () and the ImageDraw module, among others. The ImageColor module contains color tables and converters from CSS3-style color specifiers to RGB tuples. The combination of those forms an actual color of the pixel. A pixel contains three values and every value ranges between 0 and 255, representing the quantity of red, green, and blue components. Any image consists of pixels, each pixel represents a dot in an image. An instance of this class is often created in several ways: by loading images from a file, creating images from scratch, or as a result of processing other images. It’s defined within the Image module and provides a PIL image on which manipulation operations are often administered. In the next paragraphs, I'll try to clarify as much as I can. You can also read the stories of how we rewrote the FundraisingFontend to use the Clean Architecture and how we refactored towards Bounded Contexts. If you've been anywhere around enterprise software architecture these years, chances are high that you've run into questions like "what is the right granularity of Microservices?" or "Are Microservices and Bounded Contexts the same thing?" Both these contexts are also used by another application the code of which sadly enough is not currently public. For an application following this architecture, see the FundraisingFrontend, which uses both the Donation Context and Membership Context. This code can make use of libraries and of course the runtime (ie PHP) itself.Īs examples of Bounded Contexts following this approach, see the Donation Context and Membership Context. The applications and Bounded Contexts contain all the domain specific code. It also means that the code responsible for the domain logic cannot be directly accessed elsewhere, such as in the presentation layer of an application. This means that there is 0 binding to the persistence mechanisms outside of the Bounded Context. The UseCases, including their Request Models and Response Models, form the public interface of the Bounded Context. The only things that can use these service implementations are other Domain Services and the UseCases. These implementations are the only thing that is allowed to talk to and know about the low-level aspects of the Persistence Layer. It has implementations of domain services such as Repositories which are used by the UseCases. The Persistence Layer can use a relational database, files on the file system, a remote web API, a combination of these, etc. The Bounded Contexts include their own Persistence Layer. They also form a boundary around the two, meaning that no code outside of the Bounded Context is allowed to talk to the Domain Model or Domain Services. They can use both the Domain Model and the Domain Services. These include interfaces for persistence services such as Repositories. Around the Domain Model are the Domain Services. ![]() Dependencies can only point inwards, so the Domain model which is at the center cannot depend on anything more to the outside. At the core of each BC we have the Domain Model and Domain Services, containing the business logic part of the subdomain. ![]() Ideally one Bounded Context per subdomain. In the second layer we have the Bounded Contexts. That means there is 0 binding to mechanisms such as frameworks and presentation code outside of the applications. Since the applications are in the top layer, and dependencies can only go down, no code outside of the applications is allowed to depend on code in the applications. ![]() The applications contain ALL framework binding, hence they are the place where you will find the Controllers if you are using a typical web framework. Often this involves reading configuration from somewhere. All applications also somehow construct the dependency graph they need, perhaps using a Dependency Injection Container or set of factories. Each application has presentation code which in bigger applications tends to reside in a decoupled presentation layer using patterns such as presenters. These can be web applications, they can be console applications, they can be monoliths, they can be microservices, etc. In the top layer of the diagram we have applications.
